The returning champion was Stephen Webb, who won eight in a row for a total of $184,881. He also qualified for the Tournament of Champions 2023.
The data scientist from Longmont, Colorado is back in the latest episode to play his ninth game. His opponents included Kelly Barry, a marketing communications specialist in Seattle, Washington, and Mark He Bernstein, a former solutions architect in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

After eight wins, Stephen looked a little tired. He gave multiple wrong answers and was unable to beat Kelly in the Buzzer War, with the returning champion giving 11 correct answers and him 5 incorrect answers. Kelly on the other hand, although he only got eight questions correct, most of them were highly rated. She took the lead in the first round, but another new player, Mark Her Bernstein, took third place after missing her double for Daly. He gave his 4 correct answers and his 1 incorrect answer.
Players advancing to the second round scored $5,200 for Kelly, $3,000 for Stephen, and $800 for Mark.

Kelly lost points due to some high-value incorrect answers. This gave Steven a little push to claim the first position on the scoreboard.
Player scores for the second round were $12,600 for Stephen, $11,600 for Kelly, and $4,000 for Mark.
In the Final Jeopardy round, Stephen’s reign came to an end after winning eight games in a row. His and Mark’s final answer was wrong and the score fell below $5,000. Kelly was the only player to give the correct reaction to this. final round question.
