Watch Homer Fall Down a Plot Hole in ‘The Simpsons’ Season 34 Opener, ‘Don’t F**k With Cats’ (Exclusive)


simpsonsreturns for its 34th season on Sunday in an episode loosely inspired by the Netflix documentary series Don’t F**k with Cats. Variety saw the episode for the first time. Scroll down and take a look!

Winner of the 2020 Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Non-Fiction Program, the series centered around a group of amateur internet detectives who started a manhunt to find a suspect accused of animal cruelty. In “The Simpsons” premiere “Haveus Tortoise,” Homer visits the zoo and discovers a 150-year-old tortoise missing. He then becomes part of an internet group determined to find the truth behind the disappearance of animals.

The executive producer of The Simpsons said, “It’s about researching the internet, how people find community in the causes and mysteries of the internet.” Matt Selman“Homer feels stupid and stupid after being humiliated. He tries to cheer himself up at the zoo, but his beloved turtles are gone. And he says this “Don’t F — With Join an internet group of ‘Xats’ style cyber detectives and try to track down the turtles. This group of well-intentioned internet cyber sleuths has fallen down a rabbit hole of conspiracy to the point where they wish the mystery existed more than they actually solved it. ”

Selman also said, “Certainly, there are a lot of references to current conspiracy theories and Easter eggs. There’s a lot of paella in it…the community-building power of paella is amazing.” Yes, and Matthew Faughnan is the director.

In the upcoming episodes: Marge falls in love with the platoon instructor, making Homer jealous. soon become rivals. And in another episode, Marge becomes a segment producer on a daytime talk show hosted by Krusty the Clown.

“She recognizes that it costs money to put on a nice show every day,” Selman said. The pressure to churn out something that great takes a toll on Marge’s soul.”

Drew Barrymore makes a guest appearance in that episode. “I hope Marge will be on The Drew Barrymore Show to promote it somehow,” he said.

The episode “When Nelson Met Lisa” was inspired by “When Harry Met Sally” and features guest star Shim Liu. “Game Done Changed”). Homer teaches Duffman how to be a better father in another episode (“Beer to Father”), and there’s a hockey-themed episode centered around Moe and Nelson.

“Then, of course, there’s the revealing secret of ‘The Simpsons’ predictions, which we just did in a very silly way,” Selman added.

But fall’s centerpiece will be two episodes of “Treehouse of Horror,” marking the first time in the show’s history that there were two spooky episodes in one Halloween.

One of two Halloween episodes this fall is a full-length parody of “It,” in which Krusty plays the evil clown Pennywise. The classic piece “Treehouse of Horror XXXIII” contains what Selman described as “a super love letter to the classic Simpsons.”
