Sam Patterson had a terrifying reaction after being knocked out by Yanal Ashmoz.
Between UFC 286 Prior to the preliminary card, the two promotional newcomers were about to make a statement inside the O2 arena in London, England. Patterson was fighting in front of his compatriots while Ashmoz ruined his UFC debut with a vicious knockout.
In the first round, Ashmoz landed a clean counter right hand followed by a vicious ground and pound to end the fight. Shortly after being knocked out, Patterson stood up not knowing where he was. The British-born fighter thought he was still fighting and tried to wrestle referee Mark Goddard.

Fans claim Mark Goddard was late in stopping Yanar Ashmoz’s victory over Sam Patterson
After Yanar Ashmoz landed a picture-perfect right hand, Sam Patterson never recovered to the ground. Delivered an onslaught of ground and pound. When videos of Patterson struggling with his recovery surfaced on social media, fans accused Goddard of a slow suspension, with remarks such as:
“Mark G. stopped very late. I felt bad for him.
“Late stop, he got punched at least five times more than he should have.”
“I should have let him throw some punches at Marc after he committed the stoppage.”
“It looks like Marc’s stop was a bit late this time.”
“Wake up Mark Goddard if he should.”
Ashmoz extends undefeated streak mixed martial arts He has a record of 7-0 at UFC 286. The Israeli-born fighter scored his sixth win in long-range combat.Minimal damage to Patterson and he may come back Octagon sooner or later.
In the meantime, Patterson may need to take some time off before fighting again. The 26-year-old hopes to get back on track in his next Octagon appearance.
