US wants to be a hydrogen producer

Increasing hydrogen fuel production is now a top priority for the Biden administration as it seeks to end fossil fuel pollution that contributes to climate change. According to the draft, the Energy Department says he wants to produce 10 million tons of “clean” hydrogen by 2030. National Clean Hydrogen Strategy and Roadmap Released yesterday.

The US produces about 10 million tons of hydrogen each year, and that’s it. Mostly “grey” hydrogen Made with dirty natural gas. The change is to combine that natural gas with a controversial technology that captures carbon dioxide emissions and uses renewable sources and nuclear energy to make more hydrogen.
