UFC 286: Flyweight Muhammad Mochaev’s come-from-behind victory earns former double champion’s respect
UFC flyweight Muhammad Mokaev’s performance at UFC 286 impressed many fighters and fans in the MMA community. His one of those fighters was none other than former multi-division his champion Henry Cejudo.
Cejudo uploaded a post, hailing the 22-year-old as a “new star.”
“A new star joins the flyweight division. His name is Muhammad Mochaev,” wrote Henry Cejudo.

Mochaev responded to the tweet, thanking Cejudo and calling him one of the brains of MMA.

Muhammad Mokaev made an impressive appearance at the UFC 286 event in London, England. The “Punisher” faced Rafel his Filho in the qualifier for the event. At one point in the fight, Mochaev appeared to be in serious trouble because Filho trapped him in Niebuhr. Many believed the 22-year-old would tap out for submission, but Mochaev showed guts and survived the submission attempt.
Mochaev then scored a submission victory via neckcrank in the final seconds of the 15-minute fight. With this win, “The Punisher” extended his UFC winning streak to 4-0. Mokaev is currently undefeated in his MMA career and has a professional record of 10-0-1.
Muhammad Mochaev shares details about Rafel Filho’s attempted Niebuhr
After a come-from-behind win, Muhammad Mochaev appeared in UFC 286 Post-match press conference. While there, “The Punisher” spoke about a kneebar attempt by Rafel Filho and how the 22-year-old felt with multiple fractures in his knee.
Mochaev Adding that Filho’s inability to complete his submission gave him confidence, Mochaev admitted that he was willing to accept a broken knee to secure the victory.
“I’m flexible. I’ve had three or four cracks. And [Rafel Filho] I was going to tap, so he relaxed a little. He looked at me and Herb Dean said ‘he didn’t tap’..then he joined the grip again.like a choke position, but stronger..ripped knee.
