Trump brand hits again

Nordstrom. Naiman Marcus. TJ Maxx. And now, Sears and K Mart.

Sears Holdings, which runs Sears and Kmart retailers, announced this weekend that it will remove 31 Trump branded products from its website.

The company pulled out the product as part of a plan to focus on “the most profitable items”. Sears spokesman Brian Hanover told Reuters..

Hanover told the press that items in the Trump Home furniture line have been removed from the company’s website, but can be purchased online from third-party vendors. He said neither store was selling merchandise in physical stores.

Searching the Sears and Kmart websites did not find any Trump Home products, except those sold by third-party vendors.

In a statement on Monday, spokesman Chris Brasswaite kept Sears away from political controversy, reiterating that many Trump brand products are still available from third-party sellers.

“In this case, certain products, including very few Trump products, have been removed from our website,” he said. “Headlines do not justify the products of this particular brand offered through our business or marketplace sellers.”

Braswaite added that the company prefers to focus on its business and “leave politics to others.”
