Rod Stewart cancels Australian shows due to mysterious illness
rod stewart Unplugged Saturday’s concert in Australia…due to a mysterious illness.
The 78-year-old rock star made the announcement on Twitter just hours before taking the stage at the Geelong Show as part of his Down Under tour. Cyndi Lauper and John Stevens.
Stewart posted a heartbreak emoji next to his official statement, saying, “Live Nation and Roundhouse Entertainment have decided to cancel tonight’s performance by Rod Stewart, Cyndi Lauper and John Stevens at Geelong’s Mount Danyd Estate due to illness. I’m sorry for you..”
The message ended with the following: “We apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience for ticket holders. Further announcements regarding concert arrangements will be made early next week.”
Roper and Stevens also announced the cancellation on their social media pages.
It was not clear which performers had fallen ill, the nature of the illness, or how future tours would be affected.
Waiting for permission to load Instagram media.
The musicians are scheduled to perform in Adelaide on Tuesday, Mount Cotton, Queensland on March 25 and 26, and Sydney on March 29.
I reached out to a Stewart representative to get some answers. So far, no reply.
