Republicans Removed Ohio Congressman’s Ad That Lied About Afghanistan Deployment

The National Republican Congressional Committee is withdrawing a $1 million advert for Ohio Republican Congressman JR Majewski after his claims about his service in Afghanistan after 9/11 were revealed to be false. .

Majewski’s apparent deception was outlined in Wednesday’s shocking report. Associated Pressobtained military documents contradicting the candidate’s campaign trail claims that he served in Afghanistan during his time in the Air Force.

Following the AP’s report, the NRCC canceled plans to air a TV ad intended to support Majewski just weeks before the midterm elections.

Military documents show that Mayevsky, a self-described veteran, spent six months helping to load aircraft at an air base in Qatar, an American ally, and saw no actual combat.

He once said he did not shower for 40 days while allegedly deployed to Afghanistan due to lack of running water, and repeatedly used his veteran status as a key element in his campaigns for Congress.

J.R. Majewski was never sent to Afghanistan after the 9/11 attacks, but that claim was central to his parliamentary campaign.

Actual veterans were offended by Majewski’s claims.

“Veterans have done a lot for this country. It’s an insult when you claim you did what your wartime brothers and sisters actually did to build your reputation,” Don said. Christensen, a retired Colonel and former chief prosecutor for the Air Force, told the AP.

Majewski did not directly answer questions about his service claims in Afghanistan, the publication said.

Instead, he said he was proud to have served the county.

“My achievements and record are under attack. Meanwhile, career politician Mercy Kapter has a 40-year record of failure in my Toledo community. That’s why I’m here,” he added.

Majewski, a staunch Trump supporter, has been at war with Democratic incumbent Majewski for years.

Captur, who has represented the Toledo region since 1983, has lashed out at his opponents over the misrepresentation of his army.

“The idea that anyone, let alone a candidate for Congress, would mislead voters about their service in combat is an insult to every man and woman who proudly wears the uniform of a great nation.” JR Majewski owes each of these heroes a full account of his deception,” Kaptur said in a statement.
