Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are reportedly set to form an angle with Barcelona over the signing of Turkish teenage prodigy Arda Güller.
Barcelona could also use him as another option in midfield alongside star players Pedri Gonzalez and Pablo Gabi.
However, they will face stiff competition from PSG. The club, led by football director Luis Campos, are said to be confident in Güller’s abilities despite his limited time on the pitch.
Besides the two European heavyweights, SSC Napoli and Tottenham Hotspur are also rumored to be interested in the versatile attacker.
It was only last season that Güller joined Fenerbahçe’s first team. During his season 2021-22, he appeared in his 16 appearances in all competitions, scoring 3 goals and 5 assists.
The youngster has taken that solid form into the current season. He has already played 13 games in the first half of the season alone, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
Guller recently earned his first cap for the Turkish senior team, appearing in the final 22 minutes of last week’s friendly against the Czech Republic.
How are Barcelona and PSG doing this season?
The Catalans have had an incredible run in La Liga, winning 12 of their first 14 games and entering the induced 37-point break at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The only defeat in the campaign was against rivals Real Madrid.
However, our European stay in Barcelona was disappointing to say the least.Xavi Hernandez’s men left UEFA Champions League Group stage for the second consecutive season. They will face Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League play-offs next February.
Meanwhile, PSG has started the season champions trophyThey have picked up steam from that win and are yet to lose in any competition this season.
The Parisians have won 13 of their first 15 games and drawn two, leading Ligue 1 by five points. The team, led by Christophe Galtier, also qualified for the Champions League knockout, scoring his 14 points in six games in the group stage.
However, a second-place finish meant they would face reigning European champions Real Madrid in the Round of 16.
