One woman slashed, another beaten in random New York subway attack

One woman was slashed in the cheek and another punched in the face by male attackers at a Brooklyn subway station Wednesday night.

A series of one-sided traffic accidents occurred around 6 p.m. inside the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station on the 2-3-4-5 line, police said.

Police say the suspect first cut a 30-year-old woman on the left side of her face with a razor while she was standing on the platform of Route 5 heading northbound.

The man then went to the mezzanine floor of the station and put a sock on the 47-year-old woman’s face, leaving a bruise.

Police said the suspect, who was in his 40s and wore all black clothes with dreadlocks, fled the station afterward.

The attack occurred around 6pm on Wednesday evening.
