I don’t think Wisconsin beats Ohio. The Buckeyes are tough on runs and the Badgers need Braylon Allen to play the big game to have a chance. can say Jim Leonhardt is an excellent defensive coordinator and the Badgers never beat themselves up on that side of the ball.

Wisconsin may not be as formidable as 2019 when they led the Buckeyes at halftime in the Big Ten Championship Game, but Jim Leonhardt’s defense has yet to be beaten by Ryan Day’s explosive offense in the conference. One of only a handful in That’s reason enough to think Ohio State could be held below his 40. Still, Wisconsin is far too one-sided on offense to be a threat in the fourth quarter, despite a slight improvement from quarterback Graham Mertz. Expect a comfortable victory for the Buckeyes.
They thrived in Wisconsin, but football today is all about speed. – And Buckeyes’ offensive weapons are too fast for Badger to keep up. When the OSU quarterback throws in CJ Stroud’s prodigious ability to pass on money, even when he’s rolling out, Ohio State will be in the race. If this Big Ten opener intrigues me, it’s how well the Buckeyes defense, built on deception and pressure on the QB, can handle Wisconsin’s run game. Guess? That’s enough to keep talented tailback Braylon Allen averaging less than 111 yards.

In recent memory, Wisconsin always seem to play closely against Ohio State, even though the Buckeyes dominated the head-to-head. Will Jim Leonhardt’s defense spell trouble for CJ Stroud and company at first? I hope you get healthier. X-factor includes him Braelon Allen. If the Buckeyes can hold up to the same level they’ve been able to perform in the last three weeks, they should pass Wisconsin.

The Badgers, under Paul Christ and Jim Leonhardt, were able to hang there against the Buckeyes in the first half before talent gaps began to emerge in the second half. This is probably done in a similar way. Wisconsin has had a better passing game over three weeks this year, but he’s still not ready for his game in prime time at Ohio Stadium. Leonhardt’s defense is excellent, and his scheme is varied enough to keep the Badgers from getting blown out, but he’s probably out of the game for most of the second half.
