All Marketplace plans are for prescription drugs. Fill out the prescription you received from your doctor and take it as directed. Here are three things you should know about filling prescriptions.
- There may be a co-payment for prescriptions. Out-of-pocket is the amount you pay for each prescription. Out-of-pocket costs typically range from $0 to $50, depending on your insurance plan.
- Check with your insurance company to see if pre-approval (also known as “pre-approval”) is required. Medical insurance may require pre-approval for certain medications, unless it’s an emergency.
- Different health plans have medicines available from different pharmacies (called “in-network pharmacies”). Call your insurance company or visit your insurance company’s website to see which pharmacies are in their network.
