‘It’s beautiful to play alongside him’ – the Real Madrid player talks about his connection with Luka Modric
Real Madrid superstar Toni Kroos recently shared his experience playing alongside Luka Modric in midfield for the better part of the last decade.
Kroos and Modric have forged a strong partnership at the heart of the Whites’ midfield since joining from German side Bayern Munich in 2014. The duo played 296 games as teammates and won several trophies together.
Speaking about his experience sharing the pitch with the Croatians, Kroos said (h/t Madrid Xxtra):
“Modric? It’s great to play alongside him. We’ve been together for almost nine years and we understand each other perfectly. We have a good connection both on and off the pitch. What do the opponents do?” always know what to do
Claus Modric, aged 33 and 37 respectively, play a key role in the Whites’ midfield. Modric has scored 6 goals and 5 assists in 36 appearances for Real Madrid this season.
The German has made 36 appearances for the Spanish giants this season, scoring two goals and providing five assists.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti spoke before El Clasico
Real Madrid will face rivals Barcelona in La Liga on March 19th. Ancelotti’s team now has 56 points in 25 games, putting him nine ahead of the Catalan giants in the La Liga title fight.
The Whites have a lot of work to do to catch up with Barcelona. Ahead of the El He Clásico, Ancelotti insisted the team must give its best to get a good result against the Catalan club.
He said (via Los Blancos official website):
“We have to enjoy this moment and lead in a very important game. If we do our best in every sense, we can win. Individually, collectively, offensively and defensively. The league “I’m not looking to finish. I’m focused on winning tomorrow’s game. I just want to reduce the deficit.”
Ancelotti Added:
“We know each other well, so we make plans. No secrets. Just figuring out how to cause them problems and hurt them with the way we’re playing the game. That’s me until kickoff.” It’s in our hearts, and we’re going to attack without taking too many risks.”
