If you were busy waiting to see if Aaron Judge would tie Roger Maris on Thursday night, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ wide was in Game 2 of Amazon Prime Video’s “Thursday Night Football.” Receiver George Pickens missed a crazy catch like Odell Beckham.
In the first quarter, with the Browns leading 7–0, Steelers quarterback Mitchell Trubisky threw to Pickens toward the right sideline. The ball was thrown just behind the rookie’s receiver, but he bent over and stuck out his right hand to catch the ball out of the air.
Pickens told reporters Tuesday he was open almost all the time in the Steelers’ Week 2 loss to the Patriots.
“I say that because I’m a big guy running in the low 4.4s,” Pickens said. According to the Pittsburgh Tribune Review“I’m always stepping into someone, but my feet are naturally longer than others, and actually faster. Yes, and I feel like I’m always open even though the defenders are giving themselves time to catch up.
Another angle of the catch shows Pickens almost perpendicular to the sidelines.
Some have compared Pickens’ acrobatics to Odell Beckham Jr.’s catch against the Cowboys in 2014, a game the Giants lost.
The Steelers led the Browns with a two-minute caution before halftime at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland. elf brownie logo.
