Bradford 2-2 Hartlepool: Bantams score points on Andy Cook’s double
Sky Bet League 2 top scorer Andy Cook scored twice to score promotion seekers Bradford in a 2-2 draw with Hartlepool at Valley Parade.
Visitors turned to the course to greatly increase their chances of survival after taking the lead twice.
Callum Cooke returned and haunted his former club with his first goal, while Dan Kemp, who overtook Cook as the division’s Player of the Month for February, regained the lead.
However, Cook fought back each time, taking his season tally to 25-22 in the league.
Cook came close twice in the first half and Dara Costello should have scored before Bradford fell behind.
Bradford were booed at half-time but Cook equalized four minutes after restarting with a Ritchie Smallwood free-kick.
Costelloe missed two opportunities and Hartlepool gained the advantage with Kemp’s brilliant solo strike.
But Cook saved a point for Bradford with a snappy volley on a cross from Scott Banks.
