The United States Computer Emergency Response Team (US-CERT), part of the US Department of Homeland Security, reported an email phishing scam targeting Marketplace consumers. The phishing email claims to come from a US federal agency and mentions the Affordable Care Act in the subject line.All official marketplace emails Marketplace@HealthCare.gov.
If you receive this phishing email or an email that is not legitimate, please delete or ignore it immediately. Here are some other things you should know:
- Do not follow links in emails or download attachments. By entering you will be taken directly to our website. HealthCare.gov to your web browser.
- Please do not provide any personal information that may be requested in this email. We will never email you asking for personal information such as usernames, passwords, social security numbers or bank account numbers.
- Make sure your antivirus software is up to date.
