Bears win NFL Week 3 Game vs. Texans

Veras Jones Jr. is a questionable Texan to play against originally appeared nbc sports chicago

Veras Jones Jr. is officially in doubt about making his regular-season NFL debut on Sunday. bear The rookie wide receiver has been plagued with a hamstring injury during training camp. He was in and out of practice all summer, appearing in only one preseason game. Jones Jr. improved as the week progressed, though. He started as his DNP on Wednesday and on Thursday and Friday he attended two limited practices.

The Bears’ two defensive stars are also suspects in the team’s Week 3 matchup against the Texans. Outstanding cornerback Jaron Johnson is battling a quadriceps injury, while WILL linebacker Lokan Smith is grappling with a hip injury.

Johnson’s status is a little more worrying. Because he started the week as a full participant in practice, was downgraded to a restricted participant on Thursday, and finally became a non-participant on Friday. Seeing this kind of drop throughout the week is usually not a good sign that someone will be available on match day. Smith was DNP every day this week, but remains in doubt. The Bears have previously said Smith is the type of player who can play effectively without practicing.

The Bears also eliminated three players in Week 3. Starting SAM linebacker Matt Adams (hamstring), tight end Ryan Griffin (Achilles) and backup safety Dane Cruickshank (hamstring) are all out of action for the Texans.
