Adult Swim fires ‘Rick and Morty’ co-creator and star Justin Roiland over domestic violence charges.the show goes on

just over a week after co-creator, executive producer and star of Justin Roiland. rick and mortywho appeared at a pretrial hearing to face domestic violence charges, said Adult Swim is no longer working with him.

“Adult Swim has ended its relationship with Justin Roiland,” a network representative told Yahoo Entertainment.

She added that the animation hits will continue, and the show’s official Twitter account said the same.

Yahoo Entertainment has reached out to Roiland’s attorneys for comment.

Attorney T. Edward Welborn told Yahoo Entertainment when news of the incident broke. Once the District Attorney’s Office completes an orderly review of the evidence, this matter will be dismissed. We look forward to clearing Justin’s name and helping him move forward as soon as possible.

NBC News reported in January. Roiland was indicted in January 2020 in a case in Orange County, California, involving an unnamed woman Roiland was dating at the time. He pleaded not guilty to one felony count and one felony count of wrongful imprisonment for intimidation, violence, fraud and/or deception.

A protective order filed in October 2020 prohibited Roiland from harassing, threatening, surveilling, or coming within 100 feet of an unnamed person.
