Grovetown, Georgia-A 3-year-old girl, mother, and grandmother were all seriously injured when a man stabbed and assaulted him at his home in southern Georgia early Monday morning.
Grovetown police said they had responded to reports of being stabbed at around 2:45 am on Friske Street, Columbia County, near Augusta.

Police officers found that the child and two women suffered multiple puncture wounds and blunt injuries.
A 3-year-old child was taken to the hospital with a mother identified as Elizabeth Nelson and a grandmother identified as Darlene Freund. Their current situation is unknown.
Police were able to identify the suspect with a family acquaintance, Philip Marshall.
Police discovered that Marshall was suffering from multiple lacerations with his underwear alone at around 6:45 am. Police said he appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance.

Marshall was charged with three counts of exacerbated assault, with further charges pending.
